ABOUT ABOUT

The annual Concert for Kids to benefit the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign is a holiday concert which supports our community by raising funds and awareness for the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign.  Since it premiered in 2007 as an opportunity for the twenty-plus student orchestra to give back to the community, the Concert for Kids has raised over $34,000 for the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign.  No longer a small affair, the Concert for Kids has grown into a concert featuring local professional singers, choirs, dancers, and students from many Howard County high schools.  In all, the 2014 Concert for Kids brought together over one hundred and fifty performers to create an evening of music, stories and dance.  WBAL Radio on-air personalities and a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick himself are also highlights of the annual Concert.

For 2015 we are pleased to add a Family Matinee concert to our program.  This concert will be a slightly abbreviated version of our evening performance.  Still chock-full of the music, dancing and stories that are traditional highlights of the evening Concert for Kids, the Family Matinee is another opportunity for us to serve our community and raise funds for the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign.  As a special bonus, children twelve and under will receive a holiday craft which they can take home or put together in our special workshop after the concert.

Also for 2015 we have created a "Pay-It-Forward" ticket for each of the concerts.  By purchasing a "Pay-It-Forward" ticket you are giving us the opportunity to help a family in need enjoy the concert.  "Pay-It-Forward" tickets are available for both the Family Matinee and Evening performances.  Please consider helping our families in need experience the joy of the holiday season by purchasing a "Pay-It-Forward" ticket.

2015 is also the third year for our Holiday Shoppe.  Opened as part of the 2013 Concert for Kids, our Shoppe features hand-made crafts and decorations donated by local artisans and volunteers.  Ornaments, holiday centerpieces, hand-knitted afghans, and more offer an inexpensive opportunity for you to deck your halls with holiday spirit.  The 2015 Holiday Shoppe will be open from 2:00pm to a half an hour after the concert.

Come begin your holiday season with Concert for Kids.
